Back from a day at the theatre (final performance of World’s Wing followed by GREASE), so this news is probably all out there by now.
The good news is that the World’s Wing Premium senshuraku performance came to a safe and spectacular conclusion, and our hands are tired from clapping.
But at this evening’s performance, Tsubasa said he had an announcement to make, and of course we all “eeeeeeehhhhhhd?” Then he said that this year, in December, there would be Christmas concerts at Osaka’s Shouchikuza theatre. So while we were all screaming about ANY kind of announcement about things happening this year, it turns out these are SOLO concerts. By the time we had come out of the final performance, there were signs up all over the theatre and they were taking ticket applications from members. So Kuricon has gone solo????
I was heartbroken to see that there were no DVD cameras to be seen anywhere at the theatre tonight. My friend tried to jolly me along, saying that perhaps they would do a recording sans audience – or that they might have already done one before the run (meaning Tsubasa’s spectacular muscles and abs and creamy caramel skin and wild headscarf fluttering across his pecs will only live on in my mind? Ack!)
But a dry run for a DVD recording would be something of a departure for Johnnys. As far as I can see, they only record live shows.
And then he was talking about the possible last World’s Wing, and Tatsumi was sobbing and it all seemed so sad – like it was slipping away – and then there was the announcement of these solo Christmas concerts. Which is fantastic for Tsubasa and his fans. And understandable with Tackey tied up with Kakumei in January. But still, by the time I had reached the ladies toilets everyone was expressing their concern and disbelief and figuring out how they can get back down to Osaka for Christmas. So it’s difficult to know how I feel.
So a bittersweet experience to report. Tsubasa was amazing. That was definitely the best World’s Wing of the last 2 years and I have burnt it into my soul like a shooting star that shone brightly and briefly across the sky before it disappeared. Tackey and Tsubasa are moving on with even more solo shows in the next few months, further cementing the Jimusho’s belief in them as consummate stage professionals.
But every time I see another ad for Koichi’s latest SHOCK DVD (out today, CMs playing on high rotation on the TV and screaming from the giant screens at Hachiko at Shibuya) I wonder if they really honestly are never gonna bring out any of Tsubasa’s World Wings on DVD? Really. Ever.
He was so wonderful. So powerful. The music and orchestration was so spectacular.
As soon as I get a chance I will try and bring you everything I can muster on images and audio from the show and try and at least share as much as we can. I remain extremely grateful to have spent my every last, almost worthless Australian dollar burning the World’s Wing journey into my memory for ever more.
Let’s start praying for a fancam.

I posted a comment to your mention of these solo cons on the forum (and the yen).
But!!! But!!! I was counting on a DVD of WWP! Why on earth are they so parsimonious of those DVDs? Surely it would not steal sales from the actual show, on the contrary!
Well, you have to be philosophical and count your blessings: at least you got to see this several times, not to speak of Enbujou earlier. I am beginning to think I am fated never to see Tackey on stage. (liter of tears)
And now we will be waiting for your descriptive posts, which were great last time.

Tsubasa is going to have a solo concert?
for Christmas?
hmm….a few days ago, when i heard that they will have a unit activities again, I wondering if T&T will have a Christmas concert in December…
but, I feel a kinda disappointed when i knew that there’s just Tsuba-kun in Christmas concert…huhuhuhuhuhu…T.T
So,there’s no WWTP DVD?

Unfortunately our dollar has really sunk against the yen, so I probably won’t be able to come back here in December for Tsubasa’s solocon. And unfortunatey Tsubasa’s current solo show has ended, so I won’t be able to get any more pamphlets. Sorry.
I know…when I was told the news about T&T doing solo concerts for both Xmascon and a T&T unitcon, I was really disappointed and sad. T&T going ’solo’ now w/their Xmas concerts? My my…thought I’d never see or hear the day they’d end up doing that. *sigh* It’s too bad too becuz lots of fans used to look forward to going to this once a year. Oh well…maybe some day they’d do a comeback w/unit Xmas cons.
But with ‘Takizawa Revolution’ starting, I’m not surprised they’re doing solo now. I think Tsubasa should stick w/his WWP…just eleborate it more every year, kinda like how Takki does with his Enbujo plays. It would be quite interesting, you think? (just my thoughts throwing out my way)

I think it is a big mistake not to release the show into a DVD. A big mistake!!!
Now the SCP flamenco performance make sense to me. *sigh*
And as for the solo con, eventhough I was expecting for a unit concert, but I’m happy for him. Specially cause he did mentioned that he want a concert (but maybe what he meant was unit concert, who knows??!). Now he said he was excited bout the concert, and I hope he can plan n have all that he wants for the concert. ^ v ^
